REGULAR SCHEDULE TODAY                            



COLLEGE FAIR TOMORROW – There’s still room left to sign up for tomorrow’s field trip to meet with college representatives from other states and other countries at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center.  Stop by the College and Career Center today to pick up your Field Trip Request form and reserve your spot.  If you have a completed field trip request form, make sure to take it to Ms. Gildon today in the College and Career Center.  For the field trip tomorrow, check in with your 1st period teacher and be at the front gate by 8:30 am to get on the bus.

BEST BUDDIES PROM – Is this Friday, April 28 in the small gym.  Tickets are on sale now for $5 at lunch in front of the ASB office.  Everyone is welcome!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE AS A JUNIOR HONOR GUARD - In the June 15, 2017 Graduation ceremonies, please attend an informational meeting in Room 334 during lunch on Tuesday May 9th.  The meeting will begin PROMPTLY at 12:15.  


ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES - We have extended the deadline! Link Crew is looking for Link Leaders for the 2017-2018 school year. If you are interested, please get an application from the ASB office, complete it, find 3 teachers to recommend you, and turn in the app before April 28th. Any questions??? ATTENTION AP TEST TAKERS - If you registered and paid for an AP Exam and did not attend a mandatory pre-administration session, today will be the last opportunity to do so.  Come to the career center today at nutrition, lunch, after school or during class with a teacher’s note.  This will be the last opportunity to complete pre-administration before the test.


THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED - The following days due to AP testing: Monday, May 1st until Period 5; Tuesday, May 2nd until Period 5; Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th from lunch until after school; Tuesday, May 9th from lunch until after school.


SPRING WEEK This week: Today: RnB; Thursday: Culture Day; Friday: Class colors- Freshman-Green, Sophomores-Blue, Juniors-Yellow, Seniors-Hawaiian Print. Dress codes will be enforced.


JUNIORS CLASS OF 2018 - Get a preview of what's ahead senior year in all aspects of college admissions and financial aid by attending Cal-SOAP's Summer Camp. It is a week long free program taking place in July at CSULB. Student's who attend will get a head start on college application essays and scholarships, learn about and prepare for the FAFSA or the California Dream Act, search colleges and learn about college majors, and take a field trip to a college campus. For more information visit your Cal-SOAP college advisor, Mr. Leo, in room 129-A.


PROM CONTRACTS – Are now available in the ASB office. Tickets go on sale starting April 3rd for the early bird special. Make sure you have no fines with the banker, bookroom or library. If so, you will need to clear them before you can purchase a ticket.





COMPETITIVE PLAYERS CLUB – Interested in gaming? Maybe even professional? Then come to the Competitive Players Club where fellow league of legends, counterstrike, and other players group to discuss future plans for the game.  We meet every Wednesday at lunch in the College and Career Center.

APES CLUB – Are you APES for the environment? Come to room 811 on Thursdays to learn and help the environment!




LBCC EARLY BIRD – Seniors, are you going to LBCC in the Fall?  If you haven’t already registered for the Early Bird Placement Test, there are ONLY TWO EARLY BIRD DATES LEFT.  Only is the same day as Prom, May 6th, and the last one is on May 20th.  Stop by the College and Career Center the first week of May if you have not yet taken or registered for an Early Bird date.

SENIORS - Make sure you have activated your student portals for the colleges you applied to. Some of you may have been selected for financial aid verification. Check your to do list to find out! If you are required to submit these forms but fail to do so your financial aid for the 2017-2018 year will be affected. If you need help checking your status or filling out the verification forms, please see Ms. Tori in room 127-A.


APPLY FOR FREE TO 12 COLLEGE GREENLIGHT PARTNER COLLEGES – Seniors, you can still apply to 12 of the College Greenlight partner colleges at for free.  Stop by the College and Career Center for a complete list of the College Greenlight partner schools.






JOB DEVELOPER AT LAKEWOOD EVERY THURSDAY – Have you been looking for a job?  Do you need help staring your resume?  We have a brand new Job Developer at Lakewood.  If you’re at least 14 years old and you’re interested in getting a job, you can start meeting with our new Job Developer, Charles Lomack, every Thursday.  He’s be located in the same hallway as the College Advisors and the Banker in Room 125.
