LANCER SECTION

 

ACADEMIC DECATHLON -is seeking new members for the upcoming school year.  We seek anyone with 2.0 and above GPA. This year competition topic is Africa. The meeting is today at lunch in room 324.  For more information please attend the meeting.

 

SENIORS  - You can request final official transcripts beginning Monday, June 5th through Parchment.com or you can come in to the Counseling Office and sign up to request a final transcript.

 

DMAC/ ART SENIORS - That earned a 4, 5 or 6 year science medal please see Ms. Cisneros in Rm 306 to pick up.

 

ANY STUDENTS INTERESTED PLAYING ON THE GIRLS GOLF TEAM- Next fall, please come see Coach McWHORTER in room 212, before school or at lunch, ASAP.  Summer practice is coming and the fall season is not too far away.  No experience is necessary.  We are looking for serious student-athletes willing to learn, work, improve their game and compete.  If you are not playing a fall sport but are a current student athlete that likes to compete, consider playing.  It is a short, fall, season from mid-August to mid-October and you get to spend your afternoon’s off-campus at the course

JUNIORS CLASS OF 2018 - Get a preview of what's ahead senior year in all aspects of college admissions and financial aid by attending Cal-SOAP's Summer Camp. It is a weeklong free program taking place in July at CSULB. Students who attend will get a head start on college application essays and scholarships, learn about and prepare for the FAFSA or the California Dream Act, search colleges and learn about college majors, and take a field trip to a college campus. For more information visit your Cal-SOAP college advisor, Mr. Leo, in room 129-A.

 

 

SENIOR SECTION

APPLY FOR FREE TO 12 COLLEGE GREENLIGHT PARTNER COLLEGES – Seniors, you can still apply to 12 of the College Greenlight partner colleges at www.greenlightscholars.com for free.  Stop by the College and Career Center for a complete list of the College Greenlight partner schools.

 

CSU BOUND SENIORS! If you are required to attend Early Start over the summer based on your EPT and ELM test scores, you must declare which campus you will take classes at.  You can access this link through your student portal. Also, registration for Early Start classes is now open! Visit Ms. Tori or Ms. Lara if you need help selecting which classes to take.

 

SENIORS - Make sure you have activated your student portals for the colleges you applied to. Some of you may have been selected for financial aid verification. Check your to do list to find out! If you are required to submit these forms but fail to do so your financial aid for the 2017-2018 year will be affected. If you need help checking your status or filling out the verification forms, please see Ms. Tori in room 127-A.

 

 

CAREER CENTER SECTION

 

JOB DEVELOPER AT LAKEWOOD EVERY THURSDAY – Have you been looking for a job?  Do you need help staring your resume?  We have a brand new Job Developer at Lakewood.  If you’re at least 14 years old and you’re interested in getting a job, you can start meeting with our new Job Developer, Charles Lomack, every Thursday.  He’s be located in the same hallway as the College Advisors and the Banker in Room 125.
