Welcome Lancer Families to the 2016-2017 School Year!
The Lakewood High School Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA) welcomes our returning and new families to another year of partnership to advocate for and support our students.
The PTSA is an active non-profit organization that meets once per month. The Principal, ASB Student Council representative and the Activities Specialist will provide a monthly summary and campus updates. In addition, special speakers are invited periodically for topics that interest the group.
We actively recruit volunteers to support student activities including sporting events, drama productions, proctor exams, decorating for red ribbon week and, provide staff support when asked. All volunteer hours are recorded and count towards parent points.
Stay in touch with what is happening on campus by joining our group. Your ideas and energy are welcome. The meetings are the third Tuesday of the month, held in the school library, start at 7 pm and last about an hour.
Parents and students, along with other family members and friends can join the organization. To join the PTSA, please stop by one of our meetings and pay the $10 per membership dues. The largest single expenditure from the PTSA membership fees are for scholarships to our seniors. A senior can apply for a scholarship only if they are a member of the organization prior to October 31. In addition, we host an occasional restaurant fundraiser. By eating out you are donating to the PTSA organization and you don’t have to plan a meal for the day.
Thank you for helping in any way you can, and showing your children the importance you place on their education. I look forward to sharing our common goals and involvement with Lakewood High school.
Sincerely, Melinda Bartlett
