LANCER SECTION

 

 

DOWNTOWN WOMEN’S CENTER DONATION DRIVE – Help end homelessness by donating gift cards, clothing, emergency items such as flashlights, tents, household items, board games and personal hygiene items.  Pink boxes are located in the office, college & career center and room 2110.

 

GOLD L POINTS – For seniors are due Thursday, May 16th, all other grades are due Friday, May 31st in the ASB office.

 

ATTENTION SENIORS! – Have you purchased your GradNite ticket yet? No? What are you waiting for??  Only 2 more selling dates for $125 before at the door pricing of $150.  Don’t miss out on a fun filled night at Six Flags.  Tickets on sale during Open House from 6-8pm and Friday, May 31st at lunch time only in front of banker’s window.

 

SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS - Are now on sale at the student store. They will be sold in bundles of 5 for $12.50. While supplies last.

 

THIS IS THE LAST WEEK TO PURCHASE YOUR YEARBOOK! The price is $100 until May 17. After that, you may only purchase on distribution day for $120, if there are still any available. Don't miss out!

 

BOOK DRIVE – The AP Research class of 2019 is running a book drive from May 1st to May 28th.  If you have any unwanted books or magazines that are in moderate to great condition, donations can be made in rooms 2104, 715, B-16, 841, 424 and 10203.  Books will be given to the Salvation Army and to the nonprofit organization “Vietnam Veterans of America”.

 

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN INTERESTED IN GYMNASTICS?  Well we have a gymnastics team here at LHS.  Please come be a part of our hardworking competitive team.  You do not need to have any experience you only have to be a hard working, dedicated, and a nice person willing to improve yourself.  Please come see Mrs. Kaeka in the girls pe area in the cage asap so we can talk about next year. 

 

2019 JUNIOR HONOR GUARD APPLICATION - If you would like to participate as a Junior Honor Guard in the June 12, 2019 Graduation ceremonies, please pick up an application in the ASB office.

 

 

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A YOUTH ORGANIZER? Do you want a paid internship while you learn transferable skills and make new friends? Then come to room B95 during lunch May 16 to lean about CFJ's Summer Youth Leadership Academy. Food is provided"

 

CSULB HOUSING – Seniors, if you’re going to CSULB in the Fall, remember that housing on campus is mandatory for all Freshman.  If you’d rather live at home or somewhere else other than the CSULB dorms, make sure to fill out your Housing Exception Form by today.  If you need help completing the form, stop by the College and Career Center.

 

DRILL TEAM TRYOUTS - May 13-17, meet in the Quad 4-5 pm.

SAVE OUR BEACHES CLUB – Are you concerned about our environment?  Do you want to earn Gold L points and service learning hours?  If so, please join our new club called “Save our Beaches” in room 2207 at lunch every Tuesday.

 

GIRLS WHO CODE- Come join the new club. Have you ever thought of creating an app? Come see what coding is all about! Whether you are a beginner or a computer master, you are invited to participate in the movement. All are Welcome!  Meetings:  Wednesdays after school from 2:45-3:45 in room 842 & Weekly meetings at lunch on Friday in room 843. Please see Ms. Bockman in the office #135, Ms. Zell #842, or Mr. Ton in 843 if you have any questions.

DECISION DAY IS COMING! – Seniors, there is a big party in your honor being thrown and to get in, you need to send your college, military, apprenticeship, adult school, and job training acceptance letters to lhsadvising@gmail.com to be admitted to the Decision Day celebration in May.  For more information about Decision Day, stop by the College and Career Center to see the College Advisors.
