Welcome to the Department of English at Lakewood High School

One of the largest departments at Lakewood High School, English at Lakewood has over twenty-five full-time instructors.  English faculty are experts in their fields, actively involved in teaching and working together to create interesting and valuable learning activities for students.

The Department offers a wide range of courses, including Accelerated , Honors, and Advanced Placement classes.  There is also a variety of elective courses that includes Creative Writing, Film Analysis, Multi-Cultural Literature, Bible as Literature, British Literature, CSU Expository Reading and Writing.  These courses are designed to develop analytical reading, effective writing, and critical thinking, all skills that are necessary for future success in college and career.
