About Me

I am a graduate from Lakewood High School (class of 1998) and have lived in Lakewood all my life.  As a student of Lakewood High, I was on the varsity tennis team, Editor-in-Chief of the Lance (school newspaper), took a number of AP courses, worked part-time at Disneyland and was involved in clubs, volunteer work and other extra-curricular activities.  Was I superman?  No.  I learned how to balance my work early and can say that without a doubt - time management is the number one skill you MUST learn as a high school student.

After high school, I continued to work at Disneyland in many different roles.  I ultimately become a manager of the Outdoor Vending Department and was involved in many exciting developments.  I am someone who has almost ten years of experience in the real world and was lucky to work with someone from practically every type of career, while with Disney.  As a result, I know what students will need to be successful as they leave high school.

While working for Disney, I attended school at Long Beach State where I majored in English (creative writing) and minored in marketing.  I also received my teaching credential from Long Beach State and began teaching at Lakewood High School in 2006.  In 2010, I completed my masters in Educational Media Design & Technology from Full Sail University.

I have been the girls and boys head tennis coach here at Lakewood High School, and have coached in various roles for the past 20 seasons.  I am also the Department Head for Career Technical Education (CTE) courses.  I currently teach AP Computer Science Principles and Product Design.
