LANCER SECTION

 

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS – Don’t forget to donate your pennies and loose change in the pennies for patients box located in your classroom.  The class that raises the most money will receive an Olive Garden pasta party.  Help us reach our goal of $750.  Help be the change.

SUPPORT GIRLS BASKETBALL – Come out to the Lakewood Chick-fil-A on Monday, Feb. 18 from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm. Mention Lakewood and they will give us a donation per your meal.

MARCH 2nd  DEADLINE FOR FREE MONEY AND YOUR FREE COMMUNITY COLLEGE TUITION – Seniors, if you haven’t submitted your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application yet, you only have until March 2nd to get all the free money possible for college or other training after high school.  Don’t miss out on free money!  If you don’t complete one of the financial aid applications, you won’t get to go to LBCC or any other California community college, tuition free.  If you need help with your application, bring your parent’s 2017 taxes to the College and Career Center this week to secure your free money.

DONUTS AND DOUGH NEXT SATURDAY – All students are welcome to Donuts and Dough, Lakewood’s Scholarship Marathon next Saturday, February 23rd.  All students are welcome to come to the College and Career Center any time between 8 am and 12 pm to get help applying for scholarship and for seniors, you can get help working on your FAFSA or Dream Act Application.  Not only can you apply for free money, you can also win free money at the same time!  $100 gift cards will be given away each hour and somebody will win $1,000!

PAID INTERNSHIPS APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE – If you are interested in exploring careers in Biomedical Research, Law, Business, Fire Fighting, Technology, Medicine, Law Enforcement, Nursing, Pharmacy, Government, or Nutrition, stop by the College and Career Center today to pick up a flyer for one of the many paid internships available now.

ATTENTION CURRENT AP STUDENTS: - Registration and payment window for AP Exams is now open. Check your School Loop email for details, or ask an AP teacher.  Register online in StudentVUE until February 28th, then pay the banker in cash, credit card, or money or credit card using the School Loop Web Store.  Each test costs $5 dollars if you are enrolled in the class.  Payment window closes March 7th. Avoid long lines and pay early!  Registration support is offered by Mrs. Cangro in the Library every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school until 4:30 pm.

COME HELP FEMALE LEADERSHIP By donating to the Ronald McDonald House and help support the families in need. You can donate non-perishable items such as cans, boxed goods, also games, toys, etc. Please bring your items and place in the designated box in the library.  The last day to donate is Friday, March 1st.

 

SHARP – Come and pick up an application in the ASB office. SHARP is due on Friday March 1st.

 

WINTERFORMAL PICTURES ARE IN – If you ordered a picture package, you can come and pick it up in the ASB office.

T/TH ACADEMIC STUDY SKILLS CLASS - Meets from 3-4pm, B95 with Ms. Causey (ELA) and Thron (Math).

WE ARE LOOKING - For a few awesome students to recruit for the Citadel Staff for the Yearbook 2020. If you have an interest in Photography, Graphic Design, and/or writing...please pick up an application in B5 prior to meeting with your counselor. This is an amazing opportunity to leave your legacy behind at Lakewood High School.

HEY, WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR VOICE TO BE HEARD? Then join Californians for Justice to learn more about leadership opportunities, paid internships, and free travel. Join us Thursday, 2/28 in room B95 for free food and fun activities.

ATTENTION SENIORS - Stop by the Counseling Office to verify the spelling of your name for your diploma.
