Parent points

In an effort to support parents in reaching their parent point goals ( senior parents who have worked hard the previous 3 years and would like to see an incentive this year as well as continuing the momentum for underclass parents who are working towards that goal) we are offering parent points from PTSA in many unique ways.  Some examples are; serving in the community at a food drive or faith organization, painting inspirational words on rocks to be donated to a youth group or to place at the nature center, making posters and cards and collecting snacks for staff at Lakewood Regional Hospital and giving blood or platelets locally. The attached flyer gives information on downloading the Parent Point Card, instructions for submission and deadlines.

We have also included information for student volunteer opportunities.  We understand some teachers are doing extra credit projects that would align with some of these opportunities.

We will be happy to sign student cards for these projects or for "Gold L" cards if they notify us before dropping off items. The contact email is on the flyer.

Donations for the hospital (cards, posters, snacks) and the painted rocks will be ongoing until April 30th. We will donate items as they come in.

Collection sites are listed on the flyer: 1 box will be located at the school entrance during school hours and 1 box will be located at a residence by the school for drop off anytime.

While it is important to reward our parents the incentives they have been working so hard to achieve these past 4 years, I believe serving others at this time is invaluable. Volunteering has so many benefits including happiness, stress and pain relief. We need a stronger community where kindness and selflessness is expressed through volunteering. We have witnessed many acts of generosity and love through this pandemic and we don't want to lose the momentum. Let's engage our parents and students and excite them with new opportunities beyond our gates to inspire and engage them to become active members of their community which will have a positive impact on our Lancer Society in the future.

Thank you for your support
